occur together, increasing your risk of heart disease, stroke and type-2
diabetes. These conditions include increased blood pressure, high blood
sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol or
triglyceride levels<sup>1</sup>. There is enough evidence to suggest that these are “conditions caused by prosperity” across the world.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Currently, 25.2 million adults in India are estimated to have
Impaired Glucose tolerance or Pre-Diabetes, which is estimated to
increase to 35.7 million in the year 2045. India ranks second after
China in the global diabetes epidemic with 77 million people with
diabetes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">It is estimated that at least one in four adults in <em>India</em> has <em>hypertension</em> , but, only about 12% of them have their <em>blood pressure</em> under control. Similarly 25% population suffers from Dyslipidemia, commonly known as abnormal cholesterol levels.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Apart from these statistics, large numbers remain undetected and do
not get health check done at least once in a year. Most get to know when
either a symptom emerges or an irreversible damage has happened in the
body due to long period of negligence.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">The good news is most of the above are either avoidable or can be
managed and even reversed if discipline sets in. Human body is very
efficient at repairing, rebuilding the damage if it is supported and
given a chance to do it. Lifestyle medicine is a very potent tool to
manage these <strong>conditions</strong> (<em>not disease</em>, as has
been propagated by interest groups). The devil lies in detail, and
